mountain bike

I am a novice - haven't done any tri events yet but have done a lot of mountain biking.

I see in the magazine most people seem to have skinny road bikes - would I be out of place doing a tri with my MTB?

I was out of place on my road bike, i really would'nt worry about what you turn up on or wear. Its the fact your doing one that matters.

do it. You can always buy a road/tri bike later. First see if triathlon is your sports. Once you know if you want to continue, theres plenty time to buy the kit.

    cheers

I spent my first 2 years in the sport on an MTB. Lost a few places to folks with road bikes but still enjoyed the day!
