Will triple 8spd shimano sora shifters work on a double 7spd bike?

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone could help me with this. I was selling some triple 8speed shimano sora STi 3300 shifters and someone asked whether they would work on a double chainring with 7spd. At first glance I wouldn't have thought so but I said I would get back to them so if anyone could enlighten me that would be greatly appreciated.

    The answer to that is no as the indexing is slightly different.You can run and 8 speed rear mech on a 7 speed cassete but not shifters

    I think TTX PRO is correct; the indexing makes them incompatable
