this my sound daft but would it be a good idea to have say 4 or more lanes in the lake with each lane having a time limit of finishing.

Have to agree with Benny on this one, I love the start of an open water tri, real adrenaline rush. Why sterelize it with lanes, it would take the skill of sighting away aswell, nah I'll go for a zig zag punch up in the water any day!!!! [:D]

Mass lake start or lane swimming with 5 others who have given the wrong split times for the swim,no difference it is still a bun fight...awesome!!

You gotta go for mass start all the time - nothing like having everyone in water at once, especially if it's a dry start !!
