Sigh...........still havnt made a decision yet?!!!!!!!!
  • As said by many people on one of the previous threads - the cube bike looks very cool indeed.

I don't really know the specs well enough but I'll have a bash here...

Looks - I'd go for the Cube

Fastest - Cervelo (on reputation anyhow)

Value for money - no idea!

I wouldn't race any of these bikes - I'd happily stand around at events feining injury!!

I need those Xentis wheels as fitted to the Cube (purest Carb-porn fibre), but I'd go for a Cervelo frame. The P3c, not the P2c in fact.

As for running gear... surely you'd have to wait for January '09 to get the Shimano Di2 electronic shifting kit. Sounds ideal for tris... you can get shift buttons on your aero-bars AND on your base bars, so you can shift when climbing and shift when... umm.. shifting! Bound to be bloody expensive too.

Bars? Dunno... probably back to Xentis again, though I've heard a few reports of stress problems with their aero bars.

What do you think, treefrog? Are you going to plan for a Di2 upgrade, or come up with some new 2009 'electronic' creation? (Bet you go for a whole new bike mate!) [8D]

You read on the news all the time about weird people who are physically attracted to inanimate objects and are subsequently arrested - after looking at piuctures of bikes like that you sort of start to get an understanding... [&:] well sorta!!!! But they are all mint!!! although if you've read any of my posts you'll realise im bike clueless.... so i go on looks alone. i voted for the cervello but on seeing the pics its the cube!! love the colours!!! (is that an obvious girly thing to say or what?!?!) [:D]

I'd go for the felt, but i'd want those xentis wheels on it!

I am in a similar situation at the moment, as I had my heart set on building a Cervelo P2C for about 2000 in total, but i've found a felt B2 2007 for 1599, which is nearly 1000 off the list price. But looking down the component list the cervelo would have slightly better componentry I think, and definately better wheels, but will require me to build it myself, whereas the looks great, but is the frame as good as the P2C, most people say no. hmmmm.
  • I like the Cervelo P2C/P3C........but everybody has them!!! And the Felt bike to an extent. I guess lots of people have them because they are so damn quick?

Want to look different on the race course!! This is the only reason why i am swayed with bikes like the Cube and Kuato and recently the Ridley Dean.

  • Cant believe the Felt has so many votes. The Scott Plasma is nice but well well well expensive, about 1500 quid more than the others!

Having read the felt B12 review in this months 220 i think I'm going to try and get my hands on a cut price B12/B2 their specs might not be as good as some other bikes, i.e. lack of carbon bars etc. But they have the quality in the right places eg.g dura ace mech. And that frame is meant to be insanely fast, felt even claim it is the fast UCI legal frame, however ive read wind tunnel tests suggesting the cervelo is marginally better aerowise. hmmmmm too much choice!!
  • Looking forward to the Bike Show at Earls Cout in October 9/10/11th.......showcasing all the new models and bikes. Should be awesome.

    Pah!

    None of them are red.
  • Sorry for resurrecting the old thread, but I have something to add.

I have a tri in two weeks, and living on the bike course has allowed me to get out and bike it a number of times. I went out this evening with the aim of doing it as fast as possible with no concern for a run afterwards. I was putting in full effort and chugging along at approximately 42Kph when i guy glided past me on a B2 pro, he looked like he wasnt putting in any effort at all, and I presume I will be racing against him in 2 weeks. I think I know who it was, last years winner as it happens, now I have never described an inanimate object as sexy, but wow, that was a dam good looking bike! and obviously pretty fast too!
