Does yellow wee equal dehydration?

I drink a fair amount of water a day (1-2 litres plus an extra one with a training session). Some of the time my wee can be clear as evian (or any other equally pointless bottled waters) but often in the morning and some other times it's yellow as... gold. Does this equal dehydration?

    No not really mate,

In the morning your wee is going to be golden as you body has systems in place which increase the concentration of urine during the night, helping to conserve fluids as you wont be drinking and to stop you needing to go to the toilet!

However any other time than when you first wake and golden wee is an early sign telling you to drink more, you should aim for straw colour!

Cheers! Straw colour is achievable. I hope I never pee a number 8 on that colour chart. That doesn't look healthy.
  • unless of coruse you've been eating beetroot and then all bets are off! [:'(]
