Have a look at this one, more to see on the official cervelo website.

I bet treefrog's name is on one of them already [;)][:D].

  • whats that funny looking bit just above the BB?
  • treefrogtreefrog Posts: 1,242
I need to see it, read the data and test it before I buy it. Its not available until December.

The funny thing above the BB is an integrated bottle, it also has integrated calipers. Best of all it has re-worked tube profiles, so it should be better ... but I'll wait until I see it in the flesh

When it becomes available in December is it likely that it will be easy to buy one, ie do they make lots of release stock or is it likely that there will be a delay? Thought I'd ask, although not sure if anyone will know?

It'll be available - it has been ridden at the worlds yesterday, rumours about it have been ciculating since July, it has been tested to death, the tools will have been made and suckers like me are chomping at the bit to get one! At first it may not be very freely available but the pre-orders are rolling in already

    Its a stealth version of a p3,Looks Awsome.I want one.lol
  • What? No Shimano Di2. Bling failure. [8D]

Having just taken delivery of my beautiful Dolan I am still in my honeymoon period, and will not even look at another bike (even if it is faster, sexier and newer). Take that picture away.

  • Cool looking bike....

The aero bottle set up seems a bit odd....Surely people are still going to put aerobottles between thier bars? If people get this bike they obviously like thier aero savings, so having to keep reaching down to get thier bottle will not be an option....

apparently the P4 is faster with the bottle than without, which is fine, but still dont get why they made it into a bottle?

I'd think the bottle will have a straw up to the aero bars so no reaching down to it...
  • BritspinBritspin Posts: 1,655
    Is the straw aero?
  • bennybenny Posts: 1,314
    Rumours are that it's RED!!!!!![image]http://forum.220magazine.com/micons/m8.gif[/image]
  • A straw up to the aero bars? From down near the bottom bracket?

You know what it feels like when your bar-mounted bottle is getting empty... You have to slurp hard enough to lift the juice about 25cm. So imagine how hard you must suck to lift fluids from a bottle down at the BB?

I don't care about you chaps, but any tri-ladies that can do that please PM me. [8D]

If its red even better and Bopomofo hit the nail on the head.Bling Failier not having the new DA on it,or how about the new Campag 11 speed Super Record. Now that would be awsome.
  • BritspinBritspin Posts: 1,655
Try saying 'straw up to the aero bars' a few times quickly.

Read a little more about the bike frame today by all accounts it is a great piece of kit . I can't wait to see it in the flesh and who knows?
  • bennybenny Posts: 1,314
    We all know,treefrog,we all do![;)]

    (or wasn't that a question[image]http://forum.220magazine.com/micons/m5.gif[/image]).

I had a knock back on the P4 front .... I had to shell out almost a grand to get my car overhauled! Guess what the money came out of my warchest.
  • bennybenny Posts: 1,314
    sorry,what does 'overhauled' mean??

  • treefrogtreefrog Posts: 1,242
Is there any test data available for the frame?

Also I have ridden and tested various frames before buying my P3C (and R3SL) they are better than anything I've used. In fact they were the first carbon frames I bought because they conviced me that they are stiffer than alloy frames and other carbon frames Also I have two very cynical aeronautical engineer friends (who also cycle) one of whom specialises in composites and they approve the P3C. I have not ridden an aero Orbea, nor am I privy to the composite construction of Orbeas, by all accounts they are a high quality frame but it does not mean that Cervelo are dubious, nor that Cervelo riders are robots. I have read that Storck are excellent & the data backs it up, but I did not buy one because I did not test ride one, I bought the Cervelos because I test rode them and actually found them to be great

Personally, and I hope this doesn't kill ya froggy, but i think the thing is just plain ugly! I like colour!!
  • bennybenny Posts: 1,314
maybe it willbe available in carbon-red, with porridge design.

Would that change your opinion Tommi????
  • TommiTriTommiTri Posts: 879
possibly yes, but I just dont like the big P4, i think the frame looks nice, but there is top of the range orbea, that is all in black, and I think it looks far nicer!
  • bennybenny Posts: 1,314
Seen the new P4 in real life at Bikemotion in Utrecht, Netherlands.

I wasn't really overwhealmed by it, guess I expected too much.

Won't say that it's not good, but I saw hundreds of diff bikes and Thought there were more impressive ones then the P4. Don't know if the extra cost will be worth it over the P3!??

The Cervelo stand guy let me sit on it though, which automatically made all the critical stuff I just said go away, followed by the urge to take it home with me. But he didn't let me have it, they have only one show model, on its way to Tokio after this weekend.

He told me it will be available half January in 400 bikes. take off approx 100 bikes for sponsored athletes over the world, that leaves 300 ones for the ROW on half january.

    Let the fights begin!!!
  • BopomofoBopomofo Posts: 980
that leaves 300 ones for the ROW

Actually it leaves 299, because you just know that treefrog will get one.[:D]

The more I look at it, the uglier it gets.
  • bennybenny Posts: 1,314
Of course, one always could paint it red, Britspin. Would be faster too [8D]

About the eye-catching drinking bottle: as discussed above about reachability and losing aero position while reaching for it; The bottle is not there to be used!

It sits there to reduce the air resistance (improving aerodynamics). Since they couldn't make a higher bracket (UCI rules would not have let it pass), they put a drink bottle therewith the same function (and that could not be forbidden by UCI).

Heard they will lanch it end of next week.

    Wonder if treefrog decided already?[;)]
