passing time on the turbo

I was wondering how you people kill time on the turbo during winter time? (yes ,I know riding is a possibility, but besides that?).
I really get bored when on the rollers for longer then a half hour. The damn thing is in my garage, so no connection for a tv there.
What do you guys do to make turbo training count as a workout (since I think 20 minutes of automatically pedalling is a good serious workout), and make it less boring.

Spinervals also great as is the CTS (Chris Carmeichal (spelling??) trainign DVDs
I listen to quite a lot of drum n bass, such as pendulum, often the beat is approx 180 bpm which helps me keep my cadence at 90!
Not a bad idea, using the laptop.
I didn't want to buy an extra tv for the garage (no connection anyway) and an extra dvd player.
But I do have a laptop with dvdplayer to take with me there.
Are there any people who know where to get some spinervals dvds second hand(originals are quite pricy, since one does need more than one, to keep that boredom away for more then 3 sessions).

have a shop around though, tends to be a bit pricey as not wide release. Think ebay have one for £15
Was ok for the first twenty minutes, but got a little bored after that though. Guess nothing beats the real stuff.
Will try the laptop-dvd option next time!
Ahh, the old association / dissociation argument.
I tend to swing between the two approaches; it depends what's on the TV at the gym. Sometimes tuning in to the pain is good!
I don't have a turbo trainer (yet), so not an issue but I will probably use music when I get one.
I find the TVs too distracting. If I start to watch I stop concentrating and slow down.... dunno why that happens, I think I start daydreaming and forget that I'm supposed to be in pain. [:D]
David.
Glad to ride on the real roads, but that only moves my question a month further I guess. [:D][8|]
Hasn't rained since!
[>:]Pouring rain all day here in Belgium.
On the other hand, weather like this makes sure I don't have to work.
Did a easy turbo session, to recover from yesterdays excellent solo TT.
Took the laptop along, while my daughter is asleep. Didn't get bored, but only did a half hour.
Will let know if it works for the longer rides too, which will come back after the tri-season break![8D]
Can anyone recommend any dvd's to take along in the garage.
Or maybe anyone knows of a good place to buy second hand or anyone wants to sell some of theirs?
Cause I suppose one gets bored watching the same ones for the whole time and needs to replace them with other ones.
