Polar problem

Hi,
I bought a rs200 polar HRM a few months ago, i havent used the heart rate for a while, just using it as a stopwatch. I went to use the chest strap tonight, put in on exactly as i did before, but the HRM seems to pick up a heart rate that isn't mine! I'm not sure where its getting this from, I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced similar problems before i sent it back to polar!
