1000 mile socks - achilles pain

Could be the additional thickness of the sock causing deep (not blister causing) rubbing - I used to get this with 1000mile socks so I now use X-Socks (wiggle sell them)

I.

  • Anyone else? I know it sounds strange but i've never experienced this kind of pain in my achilles area before (just feels like a light strain). First time wearing socks. 2 and 2 together.........

which 1000 mile socks are you using? do they feel tight? do you have elastic laces?
  • i have the 'Racket Sock - Tactel®' socks, which are the dual layer type, rise about 4-5 inches up from ankle.

They are pretty tight, and i was using normal laces yesterday but have not fitted my locklaces to experiment with those...

Are these racket socks for use in racket(racquet) sports? If so compression could be in the wrong plane/direction. Tennis means lots of lateral movements, running does not, that my be a factor.
