Pre-session eating

I was wondering what's better for pre-training eating. On Saturdays I go for a swim in the morning (3000m), do my grocery shopping for the week and then go out on the bike (2-3hrs). Fueling wise I don't have anything on the swim and take energy drink with me on the bike and possibly an energy bar if there is one lying around.
For breakfast would I be better off having a large one (2 bowls cereals, 2 banannas) before swimming or 2 smaller ones (1 bowl cereal & 1 bananna), one before swimming and after swimming.
I don't eat straight before exercising, most of my meals are 1 --> 1.5hrs before starting the session.
