How many training miles ?

GGBGGB Posts: 482
How many training miles have you done this year so far on the bike and running ?

Also add which distance you are training for.

I think this could possibly motivate some new members like me and is not meant to be a bragging thread of who trains the most, but to give an idea of the training miles that people do for each discipline.

I suppose you can only add the mileage if you keep a record, will have a look at mine tonight.

This demonstrates how many, many, many more hours I do on the bike!

Since Jan 5 when I started this year's programme I've cycled 442 miles and run just 35 miles!

I am increasing my run mileage at the moment, though!

Training for sprint at the moment.

Since starting my IM training in January I have clocked up

    1050k on the bike

    205k running

    45k in the pool

    and 350k commuting

Might explain why I'm eating so much...

Never looked at my totals, properly, shows how biased my training is. Since January:

    Swim 57.4K

    Bike 125K

    Run 115K

    Plus a 2M/10M/2M duathlon.

Hopefully this will be enough for a respectable time in my first tri (400m, 20M, 6M) in 4 weeks time.

Suppose this also explains my recent upgrade to a second lunch box and additional banannas dipped in sugar (yummy!) for work ;) . Since 9th Feb when I returned from my joyous knee injury:

    Swim: 57km

    Bike: 1004km

    Run: 255

Aside from the fact my bike was out of commission for about 6 weeks, I'm not too disappointed. At least I can run faster now...

    Swim: 45k

    Bike: 250k

    Run: 450k

Relevance is limited without event distance being stated.

My record is (would be) logging Duration + Quality. e.g. 5 hours easy running, 1 hour tempo running..

... But really, my training plan has gone out of the window since the knee injury - I'm just doing what I can to the point of pain (a bit here, a bit there). Not really keeping a record (except for the occasional posting here).
  • Run 160km

Bike 200km (really gotta get out on d bike more often!)

Swim no idea as i don't really do much until i brave the cold cold sea (next week[&:])

    hope this helps

Britspin - thought I had added that bit in the original thread about distances - I shall ammend the post.

So far this year I have done the following:

    Bike 299 Miles

    Run 98 Miles

    Swim - 18 x 50 mins to 1 hour sessions

Event for this year is Sprint.

  • jon g - me too!!! but now i might start keeping track!!!

Since 1st January and the start of IMUK training.

    Swim 48k - 32 swims - 25 hours

    Bike 495 mile - 13 rides - 30 hours

    Run 286 mile - 43 runs - 35 hours

    Turbo - (prob about 300 mile) - 21 sessions - 17.5 hours

    Gym - 27 sessions - 26.5 hours

    This shows 2 things:

    1) I record everything

    2) i'm a slow swimmer

GGB, I think you did, but the posters did not. All I can say is, well I don't swim very much compared.....
