Hey all
are running trainers ok for cycling in too? I dont have any cycling shoes with clips ( kind of been advised to not used these for my first TRi) so was thinking I could just cycle in my running trainers and then they are on also for the run section - this ok?
also any tips for us girlies on what to wear under swimsuit so I dont get the "bouncing around" on the run section - if you get what i mean!
Have been advised a regular sports bra but these arent made of swimsuit material and will just hold onto water.. would that pose a prob?
cheers all

I know the above is true but to get a reasonable set of pedals and shoes is going to set me back approaching a hundred quid, so I haven't bought any yet.
You will be fine doing your first tri in your trainers, it's perfectly acceptable as long as you appreciate that this will slow you down a little bit. (I assume you're not trying to win the race). It will also be one less thing to think about in transition on the day.
If you do go for clipless, make sure you are happy unclipping. I fell off my bike at some traffic lights when i first got mine and almost got ran over by a white van. The adrenaline rush got me up the next hill like Lance Armstrong!
so time doesnt really matter. I would love to do well but if I can just complete the first one without dragging my arris along I will be pleased!
so.. set my running trainers up next to my bike and just use them.. should i go for socks? I always run in socks!
AND.. should I invest in some tri running shoes? whats the difference? are they just the quick slip on kind? or can I use my regular running ones for now? gawd, so many questions, but I need to ask them!
cheers

ie a cage with a strap attached to a regular flat pedal. You can use ordinary trainers with these.
and re my running trainers, they are specially fitted ones, I am a runner and know all about running in the right shoes etc wouldnt dream of not.. I just meant are there a "tri" specific running shoes I can be looking at? I am ok with the running side of things but this is tri..
just wondered
thanks for your help jules, appreciate it! :-)
