Trust the Americans to spoil it for themselves - and anyone making the long trip...

Heard about this on a podcast the other day, and they thought it was also pretty ridiculous. They suggested bring in two finishing chutes - one for the family and kids lot who don't mind losing a few seconds to enjoy the occasion and thank those who gave up so much. The other for those just wanting to bust a gut over the finish.

What is interesting is that Craig Alexander had his family congratulate him immediately (1m) after the finish line at Kona last year?!?! Is that disqualification material? Could you imagine the uproar if they did?

Guess the organisers were worried in case an athlete rolling across the finish line in support of ALS got stampeded by an athlete and his large entourage.
