Being a single loner i cant wait to sign up for this one!!!! who wants my bank details? (sorry girls there nothing in there mind)

Maybe we could start a lonely hearts training club!!!!!! So we all get used to seeing each other coughing dribbling and spluttering! but hey not actually being able to engage my brain might actually assist my chat up lines...

P.S. this is easily the most popular thread on her for a long long time!!!!!

Oh and is there something in the water on here today, three of the top ten threads... Romance, women looking good in tri gear and does size matter?

    Hope not [:D]

Ha ha ha spring, it seems, has sprung [;)]

I think my springs sprung a long time ago!! I like the idea earlier of phone numbers being swapped in transition-we could write them on our upper arms or calves, and see how that confuses the race organisers!

We could also write a short profile around our race numbers so that any tasty blokes following get a chance to see what you're about before they even clap eyes on your face! Won't work on the run leg though-unless you want to pull a race marshall!

Sign me up for the singles tri too!!

I like the way people are thinking maybe you could have a event when everybody who is single as their phone number on their kit somewhere and if you see something you like you can tak ethta number

Your just getting fussy now! Not only do you want a triathlete but one at your level!

Looks the the traffic light ideas out or we could go for shades of green light green being slow and single and dark green being fast and single. And so on!

I am not even single but this thread is great!

What if your colour blind.... could have disasterous consequences......Lol

Ok so, this year at every event I'll be sporting a smiley underneath my race number to signify my singleton status. It may smack ever so slightly of desperation but at the very least will be a great conversation starter! How many hits has this thread had, hundreds? So loads of people out there will be in on it and hopefully a smiley won't upset the race marshals too much.

And if this doesn't catch on, i'll be the only tool wearing a grin on her leg so make sure you say hi [;)]

I like this idea of thre smiley face, you must let me know the races you are thinking of entering I presume they are all down south as most people seem to be from the south on this web site

So far this year; St austell 10krun may10, south cerney sprint june 21, plymouth olympic july 12

thats pretty south if you ask me! lol
  • pacman2102pacman2102 Posts: 247
that as far so as you can get in the UK , so it doesn't look like we will be competing in the same event unless you are doing something like the national relay or

I was going to post something saying what can the single guys do as a smiley may seem a bit girlie, then I realised I'd being wearing lycra so a smiley is the least of my worries!!!

I like this one Jesster, so you won't be the only one in the country but your events are too south for me; my first is a little try a tri sprint in Wimborne on 10th May-I'll draw on the smiley for that and maybe find my own male sweaty heaven-in-lycra!

Actually, forgot about the Bournemouth Bay 10k this sunday-I'll wear the smiley for that and carry the singleton flag for all of us![:)]

Excellent Ms 6162! Why dont i come over your way on may 10th and we can both look like divs with smiley legs and see if anyone says anything?! Good times!! what'll it be, run or tri? lol
  • Cheryl6162Cheryl6162 Posts: 356
Great idea! Scratch the St Austell 10k and come to sunny Wimborne-probably too cold in Cornwall at that time of the year anyway!

I suggest we do a little light running-nothing too strenuous as don't want the smileys to run and maybe a nice little bike ride for a bit. Swimming definitely out-just ruins the hair.......

    So, what does that leave???
  • JessterJesster Posts: 482
I've a good friend in wimborne, i'm well overdue to drop by and see him.....hmmmm, shall we tri a tri (or tri a tri again) ?
  • JessterJesster Posts: 482
blimey charlie! its 27 quid! [:-]
  • Cheryl6162Cheryl6162 Posts: 356
I know! Flippin expensive isn't it? But have to say, the talent is pretty good. At their last tri The Mad March the team GB were there-didn't see them for long tho.....
  • JessterJesster Posts: 482
ooooh well i shall have to think about it. hmmm lets see, long bloody drive, pricey event, short race, fit men. or pop next door, eight quid, fair run, unknown quantity of talent.

I'll have to flip a coin.

Its tough making all these decisions....!

Then we will have to sport our smileys at our respective races and report back here for success rate!

I'll start with the 10k Sunday-be interesting to see if anyone recognises it from here!

  • JessterJesster Posts: 482
wouldnt it be great if it catches on. We shall feel like Cilla! lol good luck for sunday!

Ok, so a question for the women:

Which is more important in a picking up a male triathlete, how nice his bike is or how fast can he run? I mean if he treats the bike so well then he'd have to do the same for you right, OR he can put his money where his mouth is and actually have a good race...

none of the above. a man will be judged by whether or not he is aesthetically pleasing and if he's friendly and self-effacing. kit has nothing to do with it, am i right, girls?!

You must also be looking for Red and black tri suits first to narrow the field down?
  • How would a black and purple tri-suit read? 2-piece on a female.
  • AndreAndre Posts: 103
And, um, can I safely assume that the, er, size of your kit doesn't matter either..?
  • JessterJesster Posts: 482
@comanighttrain-as long as you are wearing a smile and some lycra, you'll get the girls no probs. As Lance Armstrong put it, "it's not about the bike" ! just reassure us that we'll do well pre-race and you're quids in....
  • obviously you are referring to bikes, helmets etc..,....
