Why is a brick session called a brick session?

....my own theory is it is because when you get off the bike and start to run it 'hits you like a brick'......

    I thought I read it was based on a blokes name? perhaps 'Andy' Brick? might of been a Joe Friel book??

    cos it's proper brick - as in brick solid!!!

    not a clue as to the actual reason but i know my feet feel like bricks when i first get off the bike and try to run
