What your saying makes sense to me.
I like it but daily seems a little strong as it does have fat in it.

Id say no. High in fat and high in calories. I LOVE it though.

I never see houmous ever feature in any of the Tri or running mags' diet sections.
I love it. Wholegrain pitta, carrots or raw red pepper all served with a big blob of houmous.
My instinct is that it's very good for you: protein from chick peas, good fat from the olive oil and vitamins (iron even?).
Anyone know whether it's a good thing to have regularly (daily for me) in an active diet?

recipe for it in issue 232 (April) of 220, says shop bought houmous can be high in fat and garlic
200g chickpeas, drained
half a lemon, juiced
1-2 tbps olive or rapeseed oil
50ml water or liqour from the chickpeas
pinch of salt
black pepper (optional)
pinch of mixed seeds for seasoning (sesame, hemp, sunflower, pumpkin, linseed)
Blend until desired coarseness of paste is achieved
