Cycling helmet approved or not?

I have just checked the British Triathlon website in regards to cycling helmet certification and it states the following: 11.3 Approved cycling safety helmets of ANSI Z90.4, SNELL B90, EN 1078 or an equivalent national standard must be worn by competitors. (NB: a CE mark is NOT an approval mark.)

My cycling helmet has the CE mark and above the actual mark it is written: Exceeds ANSI Z 90,4, Certified to EN 1078: (04.97) Does this comply with the regulations or not?

When did you buy it? If it was in the last couple of years they wont have been allowed to put it on sale without it being approved.

Thanks jon_g, I was just concerned because the BTO states specifically the CE mark is not an approval mark and the ''Exceeds ANSI Z 90,4'' is printed as part of this CE mark in my helmet.
