Open water site in SE London

I'm heading over to Upminster on Saturday for a 7am session with Swimfortri. They do open water technique or fitness sessions.

15 quid a pop for technique coaching, or 5 quid for fitness training.

    Anyone know of any (relatively) near to Lewisham? I am finally christening my wetsuit this weekend.



    The Thames does not count!

    Not really open water swimming but Charlton Lido is now open and encourage the use of wetsuits. I am heading down Saturday morning.

    Tooting Bec Lido is open all year and again they are happy for you to use wetsuits there.

    there's one in Charlton - fantastic, I am away this weekend, but next week i am likely to head down there.

    its heated (so you don't really need a wetsuit but plenty do use them anyway for practice) - london fields lido in hackney. a really amazing pool, 50m long outdoor lido, open all year round during daylight hours so from 6am or something currently. Serpentine lido for 110m bouyed off area of the river (and get some cycling in getting there and back, or do a run around hyde park whilst you are there) - not busy and often only people you see in the water are triathletes in training. Roydon in Essex also for open water lake swimming. happy swimming....
