Meal out before first triathlon

i dont know how but the parents are looking after the kids this weekend so i can take the wife out on Saturday and have an early night.



so what would be the best meal to have prior to a triathlon?

    thusfar (in my VAST experience of half a dozen races) I haven't done anything special - normal food & few galsses of wine. But I think the idea is NO booze & lots of carbs. Key (even more so for race day brekkie) is to not do anything special that may upset your stomach, I guess.

    I think OSR3 for your previous nights meal, something fattie, for example chips, burger, with lots of cheese. Polished off with a cheesecake and thick clotted cream.

    For breakfast, you have got to have a large fry up, with plenty of buttered toast. Maybe even wash it down with a bottle of Newcastle Brown.



    Not that I am in the same race as you ro anything lol.



    On a serious note, hope you do well. Any ideas what time you are setting off roughly. I believe they are splitting the swimmers into catagories.

    near the front 6min swim



    planing to do the event in about 1:10 1:20



    6min swim

    40min Bike

    25min run



    good luck for sunday also.

    Bang on same times for me. I was looking at 1:10 also.



    I got a PB for my swim at 5:37, but normal swim is around 6:04. So we should be racing roughly the same time.
