To be fair to the guy, he did stop but weirdly I forgot to get his details. Luckily I was mostly ok, but claimed for the bike on the house insurance. They paid out in Halfords vouchers but thankfully the LBS accepted them [:)]
That's the one - my house insurance covers bikes away from home for theft and accidental damage but only up to 400 by default. I've got my other bikes as named items which costs a bit extra
Interesting stuff but pity there isnt more in depth stuff on London. If there was, Im sure Putney would be a nasty blackspot. Even central london isnt as bad as Putney. The home of idiotic pedestrians and drivers with no spatial awareness.

Thats interesting, hardly any accidents reported in richmond park, which ties in with higher cyclist numbers and drivers hopefully more aware of us.
Aslo so true what people say about traffic calming areas, which just makes it more dangerous for cyclists. In my experience, drivers dont slow down, just zigzag a lot faster.

Quite easy done, most insurers offer this cover. You normally have to specifiy the bike if its over a certain value say £1500
