spd-sl nuts... and cleats... and ... plates (?)

diddsdidds Posts: 655
somehow managed to lose twp nuts off my left shoe/SPD-SL cleat last saturday... and of course can;t buy new nuts.

Wife on my behalf went to get new SPD-SL cleats today from my totally useless LBS (only went there cos of convenience) and found the plate underneath the cleat which the nuts screw into has alsp somehow disappeared.

LBS said that sets of cleats do not come with the plates, but the plates aren;t sold "on their own".

So... what's the solution? What do plates come witrh .. the shoes? do shimano sell plates? By next saturday (I have a marshalling ride).

Or do cleats come with plates?

Or .... what?

In short what I really need are two nuts and accompany plate/plates. If they are not available "on their own"... how do I square this circle?

buy these, chuck shoes in the bin, use cleats or just screws

by plates do you mean the small metal slide inserts that sit in the cleats enabling some positional movement before tightening the bolts?

if so then they definately come with the cleats, you get a full set of replacement bits and bobs with every pair.

    your lbs sucks
