Welcome to the fold, but beware, this sport is highly addictive and leaves you wearing very strange clothing...

As long as it gets me fitter and leaves me with a big sense of personal gain/satisfaction

Welcome to the forum! I'll echo fatstu's comments, this sport is addictive.

Be warned though, your sense of personal gain will be offset by personal (financial) loss due to purchases of bodyglide, skinsuits and a plethora of other homoerotic sounding products - all of which are scientifically proven to make you go faster.

Sounds (at this early stage) like you all have my wicked sense of humour too.
I like good first impressions that make me laugh.

Welcome to the forum, icarter73. You might also want to warn any friends, family, children that they'll be seeing a lot less you in the coming months Unless of course you persuade them to join you..

Another one joins the forum. Nice one!

You thinking of doing a triathlon this year? No reason why not! And any questions you have ask away. I'm no expert and only have two sprints under my belt but there's some great advice to be had from this forum. No question too daft! Which reminds me, I have a daft question to ask...
