Chaffing

Evening all

Had second attempt at open water swim at Blue Seventy water in Reading (are all OW venues this friendly?) this week and dead chuffed with 1400m in 34 mins but suffered severe chaffing round my neck. Now I've been advised cocoa butter off of the Body Shop is a good remedy without having to order on line for specialist product (and its at half price at the mo). What's the consensus?

PS before anyone asks, it’s not an issue with the smell-relatively secure in my sexuality...

Ok three large brandies have dulled my sense of judgement-is that a serious response?

don't use vaseline it will damage the neoprene in the suit. body glide works - i think coconut oil would be fine so ong as that won't rot the suit. perhaps others will know, but i think that's what i used last time i went OW swimming - it was what was there from swim for ti - i forgot my bodyglide.
  • i dont think coconut oil is petroleum based md6 should be fine...

Body glide is good and available from wiggle, bournesports and most other tri shops. You could try cooking oil, olive or sunflower both will do.If it is a hot day a nice layer of waterproof sun block should do the trick and stop you kneck from burning.
