Err... Everyone. It's just finding the money that's the issue.

I doubt if you'll be able to compete with the bigger on line vendors. I've already seen about £250 including the HRM.

in all seriousness i have been looking at them. This is not a order, but should be classed as a warm lead.

I'd be interested at the right price.

Handtec.com are doing them for £230 I think without HRM. Available 22 July

Yeah, tentatively interested here. Got a birthday coming up so who knows.

One question I have regarding it is, how bulky is something like this to get through the arms of your wetsuit?

just read the blurb on here
    http://www.heartratemonitor.co.uk/garmi ... 310xt.html

" high-sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix to give it faster satellite reception than the Forerunner 305 units"

oh crap, now I have the gadget demon in my head saying "go on"... how do I explain this to the other half on top of all the other tri stuff that I've accumulated recently

anyone want to buy a 305 or polar rs800cx?... they're really good
  • I'm still interested..

But not to put dampner on the.. the 310XT is waterproof.. but it DOESN'T measure the distance you swim. The HR strap is waterproof but doesn't transmit in the water..

Can you get a deal on a 705 Edge Darren??

Let me know about the 310XT anyway.. the 20hr battery life is expceptional

one can never have too many GPS devices..

What's the benefit of having the GPS.

I have my bike computer for milage on the bike. And use mapmyrun for my running...

Does it do things other than that??

I think GPS is great, it gives you (on the Garmin 405) speed, distance, pace, maps the route out on google maps for you (to within about 5 meters as sometimes i seem to be Jesus running down the middle of the Thames not on the footpath next to it), my 405 also does auto lap so it beeps every mile/km to tell you the time for that lap - great help with pacing a long run or tempo session. Less helpfull is the return home where it tells you the distance and direction to go to get back to home' or any point you have set it to - you have to go there to set it thogh), it will beepo to tell me that i need to turn soon also and points the direction to turn on an electornic 'compass' on the screen - i assume the 310 will have all this. Um and its a cool gadget to have
  • Does anyone know if a 305 HR strap will work with a 310XT??

How much for the 305 if that was a serious offer? garmin still insist on £60 for a recon to replace my 18month old 305 whose mode button is non functional..not happy.
