Yes it's another one of those road bike vs. TT bike threads

but hear me out...

... I'm planning a radical shake up in the garden shed with the inclusion of a new steed.

Said steed has to be able to not only steer me to faster times on the shorter distance races, but with the step up to a possible Ironman next year and a cycling holiday in the Alps. (Father In Law and I are tacking Ventoux amongst others), I'm erring towards a road bike.

Tell me I'm right/ wrong, stupid etc......

How about a Cervelo S1 - you can kit out with drops etc for you road work, touring etc and then replace with aero cockpit for Triathlon:

That is of course providing you don't intend lashing tents and sleeping bags onto it.

Thanks, will have a look at the S1. Had a go on a Wilier Izoard the other day which was rather nice (and stylish ). Luckily for the Alps we have a "team" driver so no need to put kit on the bike which is a bonus.
