London Tri - Olympic Distance Bike Leg

Does anyone know why the bike leg was cut short ?
From the map, the afternoon wave was supposed to turn at Tower Bridge but we seemed to turn much earlier.

Hope the chap in the neck brace is ok

    I remember something in the racepack about this - basically said that cyclists had to be on the second leg of the bike by 1700 so that the roads could re-open on time. Not sure if that applies to you of course?

    I guessed it was one of the conditions of the road closure to have some handed back in time for evening traffic
