european treat?

Done triathlons-aplenty in the UK, but now looking for a fresh challenge. Can anyone recommend a race in Europe that they might have done? Doesn't have to be one of the high-profile ones...in fact it's probably preferable that it isn't. Looking for a hidden gem!

Cheers

I'm doing the Nyon (Switzerland) Olympic distance this weekend (my first OD), so i'll post up a race report so you can read what it is like. Nyon is only 20 mins away from geneva so easy to get to, and with it being in August you're almost guaranteed good weather. here's the site for the event http://www.trinyon.ch/

There is also the Lausanne triathlon at the end of August (which i would be doing but am actually back in the UK that weekend. this also seems to double as the swiss championships so should be well organised too. http://www.trilausanne.ch/2009/html/index_en.php

there are many others over here which i am sure are also good (like Zurich) but i've currently only been looking around in my neck of the woods. hope they give you something to think about.
  • That's really helpful guys. A quirky one..but does anybody know of a triathlon that involves swimming under a waterfall? Or one that is in exceptionally cold waters? Or am i going mad?
  • hi, does anyone else have any suggestions? i'm putting together a piece for a national magazine.
    thanks
