rocking forks

just finished building my new tri bike ,
went on first test run & found when i pull front brake the forks rock backward, have i missed something
any advice gratefully recieved.

    Is the steering very light too? If so it sounds like the headset is too loose. Loosen the stem and tighten the headset bolt until the bike doesn't rock when you apply the front brake and push the bike forwards. Then retighten the stem, should fix it.

    Do you have a carbon fork with carbon steerer tube? If so make sure the bung is tight in that before tightening headset.

    Loosen the screws clamping the stem to the forks
    Loosen the top cap (on the top of the fork tube)

    Now IN THIS ORDER re-tighten:

    The top cap (do not over-tighten)
    The stem clamp screws

    Problem fixed! (i hope)
