And no response on the BBC Website!

In their quest for stories pertinent to the UK taxpayer the Beeb replied to my protest about not reporting Chrissie Wellington's win thus:
"The BBC Sport website can't possibly cover everything and we are currently examining exactly what we do and don't cover. On this occasion, this event missed out. Unfortunately, we have a budget situation at the BBC which means we have to also consider trimming back what we currently do so we have to focus increasingly on UK sports as this is where our licence fee income is derived."

Presumably that is why they are running several stories about American Football!! Tossers

Conditions at the ITU Long Course Champs were not pleasant apparently, very very hot, so a quality effort from Ms Swallow.
  • Budget situation?

    Watch carefuly BBC:

"Chrissie Wellington has won yet another Ironman etc etc"

So far typing that hasnt cost me anything! Am sure I could throw out a paragraph without incurring any actual expense! Weird.

Abit late but it did make the BBC as did Julie Dibbens great win as well. There's a mention of all 5 of pour ITU World champs and on top of that Chrissie gets in for a mention as well. All helped along via Twitter.

But this is something that 'professional' BBC journalsts should be doing.

I do not for the slightest moment think that any of these outstanding events would make it on the BBC News page as a headline, I do not even expect them to make the BBC Sports home page as headlines but if the BBC has a specialist section on Triathlon and cannot be arsed to keep it up to date then what the hell is going on? The problem is of course if they get too much flak they could quite easliy throw their teddy in the corner and say 'right - arseholes to you lot' and pull the Triathlon page altogether - not that we would miss it!

Praps the BBC should read this in the Telegraph.

4 world champions, an under 23 world champion and a junior world champion. Possibly worthy of slightly more coverage.
