Windsor Olympic 2010

Just tried to enter as I couldn't afford it last month and it's full! Got my name on the waiting list but wondered what people think my chances of getting in are.

  • Hi

It was full a couple of weeks back.......so i guess there is a lengthy waiting list. Sorry!
  • Thanks, anyone got any advice on another Olympic Distance Triathlon I could enter as my first?

This is a well run event, great swim and fantastic bike and run legs. You could do worse..... and if you do it I'll see you there.
  • Loads at Dorney Lake (Humanrace.co.uk) but you might get dizzy, as it's 8 laps on the bike!
I think the ITU event in London at Hyde Park will have an Olympic as well, or there's always London in August.
Depends whereabouts you are in the country really. Most events haven't been confirmed yet, so there's loads of time.
  • I live on the Isle of Wight, anything in the South of England is good. Thanks for the tips so far.

city of bath is well organised and in the south, but the course is a bugger for hills so if you don't like them you may be disappointed.
  • That's a good call, beautiful city and I train on the Isle of Wight, so hills are a big part of my daily routine. It'd be a good challenge. I'll look it up.

it's normally in july and entries open in the new year i think. last year it was £42 which is good value.

i think i'll do it again if it fits with a him training programme, it's on my doorstep so i'd be daft to miss it.
  • Minty,

Try http://www.racenewforest.co.uk, they have a sprint in June and Olympic in May. Closer to you than Bath.

Also try http://www.rawenergypursuits.co.uk/ They have a few races in Steyning/ Arundel. I have these races saved in my 'Little Gems' folder as they are not too expensive and cant be driven to from my place in under two hrs.

  • Top advice. Thanks guys, I'll definitely check out that New Forest race and Bath seems very appealing. Things are really looking up!

Bournemouth have an olympic as do Swanage I think. However for a first time what about Hyde Park. Think it's the 25th July next year?
