Titanium Tri Bike - Help!

The wife of one of my pals is looking to get him a £3k Titanium Tri bike as a surprise present, he is a lucky man, and asked me for some advice as I compete with him. As my bike cost £400 from E-bay this is not a problem I have faced before!

I have done some research online and it looks the main contenders would include Van Nicholas Blaze, but struggling to see many more bikes than that. So if anyone could recommend a Titanium Tri Bike costing up to £3k for the full set up or a shop in the London area that have experience of building such things I would be very grateful.

    there was a shakedown of titanium road bikes in t+ or 220 a little while back. the names that i remembered were litespeed, planet x and lynskey. none of them were tri-bikes that i recall though, i'm afraid.

    It was the October issue of Tri+ Ris is refering to. The planet X "Ti Pro Road" won on value and performance (£1700). The Lynskey T230, a TT bike and £1500 for the frame scored the same points as the planet X and was summarised by "The Lynskey's glove like fit, stress-free handling and super efficient, floated ride will clamly carve you a string of PB's"

    You can check out Condor cycles on Grays Inn Road ( not too far from Chancery Lane tube station) - I was in there today and they have a couple of Ti bikes (Moda and Granfondo) which should be within your budget. Also, Mosquito cycles on Essex Road (near Angel tube) build Litespeed Ti bikes, which give you another option. I've been looking for one myself over the last few months but they are few and far between as most people go for carbon and you won't find any Ti bikes in the main cycling retailers. I've had a few puzzled looks from shop assistants when asking about their range of Ti bikes...!!

    Many thanks for the links and advice, I have suggested that the super-wife head down to Mosquito in Islington, Condor at Grey's Inn and CyclosUno in Ilford and see what they say. I think he's going to need a proper cycle fitting anyway before he invests.

    I have a Van Nicholas road bike and absolutely love it.

    I bought it from Corridori in Epsom and they were extremely helpful with both advice and set up of the bike.

    I'd highly recommend both Van Nicholas and Corridori. Hope that helps.

    Adding another option I've got an Enigma Echo, which I absolutely love.

    They now make the bikes in the UK as well which I like the idea of.

    They're based on the south coast near Hastings and you can travel down to get fitted up and go for a test ride.

    Jim and Mark the owner and designer are really nice people which I also think helps.
