    Didn't put this at the start of the report, but for posterity's sake and hopefully it may be help to others in the future...

    Course profile: flat bike starting with 18 Km of motorway and later with three fairly small climbs, flat run mainly on grass/trail
    Distance: 70.3
    Closed Roads: bike route totally closed, run route all off road
    Marshalling: Sign-posts and marshalls
    Facilities: expo, toilets on the run at about 1 Km
    Technical: Chip timing
    Freebies: Ironman rucksack, finishers technical t-shirt, all the infinit drink and powerbar you can drink/eat on the course plus fruit, water and cola. Medal and space blanket.

    Course details: Swim is a split lake with a 200m run between them. 200m run from lake 2 to T1. Bike pretty flat with early 18 Km on motorway, hills at 24 Km (short), 60 Km (8 Km long, not overly steep) and 70 Km (short). Technical descent after 1st climb, straight, easy and fast descent after the second, non technical after the third. Aid stations at 26 Km and 65 Km after 1st and 2nd climbs. Seperate T2. Run course is a two loop course that goes through the stadium 5 times, incorporating a running track to the rear (wheelchaired competitors use the running track exclusively for the run portion due to undulating nature of normal run course). Run is flat out and back along river banks with a short pavement business park area and final approach to the stadium. Aid stations roughly every 2Km with energy drink, cola and water, gels and fruit.
