Polar HRM's

I'm coming to decision time on buying an HRM and a big discount is pushing me towards a Polar.

So, I'm weighing up which one. The RS300x G1 or the RS400sd. There is loads of opinion online, but the big thing for me is that the 300 has GPS and the more expensive one, the 400 operates off a foot pod. Does anyone have any info on which is better. I was always under the impression that GPS was incorporated on the more expensive units and foot pods were the lesser option??

All help appreciated.

I know that when we go out on Club runs, the GPS's are nearly always consistent, but those with footpods seem to always have different distances, over and under measuring. All to do with how they calibrate it or something. GPS all the way.

I am in the Garmin forerunner camp!

Mine is great and the GPS is good. It does all I need and tells the time! Cant swim in it though which is a pain1
