Has anyone experienced skin iritation from a wetsuit? I don't just mean rubbing but an allergic reaction? A couple of times recently my chest and neck have becomed very inflamed.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried washing the lining with something. In fact are there any specialist cleaning companies that do wetsits?

Wear a rash vest? Are you swimming in it just in shorts?
  • RipCurl do a wetsuit shampoo, called 'Piss Off' for obvious reasons, gets rid of all the enzymes, good to wash the suit out every now and then with proper shampoo, rather than just rinsing in clean water.

Other option is a rash vest as suggested, or tri-suit. Prevent the skin coming into contact, and hopefully no rash
  • I tend to train in shorts rather than the tri suit. I do have a rash vest but find I get too hot. I will try the shampoo option as I think whatever is causing the problem has built up overr time.

    Thanks for your input.
