  • I've gone from enthusiastic beginner, to boat colliding, cack handed mechanic in only 12mths! Love it.

And Conehead didn't even mention the discounts available, oh, and the coolest club kit ever. Fact.

    Shameless plug complete.
  • Being a club focussed on nothing less than global domination also means there's somebody near you who's up for a race or a training session: I've trained with fellow BCTTTers in Southampton, the New Forest and Staines... raced with BCTTTers in the New Forest, Weymouth, Winchester, Windsor, Bournemouth etc etc

I've also been supported, encouraged, cheered, hugged and goosed by complete strangers. What more could you want?

And, as mentioned, we have the best tri-kit in the known universe. Fact.

and we have a member who swims into boats.

another that wears a pink mankini.

one more that tows a canoe in swim training.

one of the above also manages to mangle bikes in self mechanic mode even worse than a blind, no fingered cretin on downers could manage. (WADR to blind, no fingered cretins on downers).

somebody that rides horses for days on end non stop for fun.

a member that gets blown backwards on his bike in a headwind.

plus one that enters every race available including the one legged teeth climbing Eiger challenge.

not forgetting another that turns up to races a day earlier than everybody else.

    and a top selling author.

what more could you POSSIBLY want in a club?

    Hi All,

Sounds good and being tempted leaves me with a slight dilema.

If one is a member of a local tri club and wears their attire, what happens then come race day?

    Which way do you swing?

    Pat...
  • Then you wear Team Laws kit

  • How / where do I buy the kit?!

club orders periodically go in, or if you want enough of it then when 10 bits of the same colour are put together. i think that a 'winter kit' order has either gone in or is about to very shortly. members only and that...

Simply enough question with a simple enough answer - its the best triathlon club in the known universe!

Of course you might want more detail than that! I've posted a couple of copies of the club mag on here for everyone so you can get a feel for us, and some of you may have had the misfortune of reading my book.

Somehow the club managed to get to last 5 of 2009 '220 club of year' despite being only 4 months old at the time. Rumours of vote rigging were never substantiated.....

Bridgtown Cona Testa Triathlon Team is an affiliated British Triathlon Federation Club. The club has no constitution or rules as such, other than global triathlon domination. Whilst we’re happy to take uber elites into our fold, if you spend most of your time propping up the bottom of the race results sheets whilst not entirely sure what you're doing - WE WANT YOU!

We may appear to be a pukka club awash with ‘triathletes’ but the reality is we’re all rookies making it up as we go along, whilst trying not to get in anyone elses way. Why rush through transition when you can have a nice sit down eh?

Do any of these descriptions apply to you?

    1. I have some sort of mountain bike/hybrid thing, not exactly sure what it is but it’s a bike – I know that much. I have little or no equipment and simply make do with what I have to hand. My main aim is to finish before the race marshals have to go home. I do this sport because I love it, love the people and it’s not about the kit you have. It’s a great way to stay in shape and meet fun people.

    2. I have the best bike I can afford, try to make sure I have the majority of the kit I need to race and train as often as my home life and work allow. I might not have everything I want, but I’ve got what I need. My main aim is to train and race as often as I can, stay out of trouble and try to beat my time every time I race whilst trying to have fun!

    3. I have £4,000 worth of carbon bike porn which I parade happily up and down transition. My main aim is to win my age group and hopefully podium at every race I enter. If it comes in carbon, I probably own it and my garage resembles a triathlon boutique shop. You will never see me with anything triathlon related that is more than a season old. I would also sell one of my organs to secure Ironman Hawaii qualification. I may have a wife/husband/girlfriend/partner but it’s that long since I’ve actually seen them its hard to be sure.

Whatever the case, all are welcome at the BCTTT

    Come and say hello http://forum.bcttt.com/
    Such a very amazing link!
    Thanks you for the post.

But maybe you prefer stealth colours - note the faux carbon pattern, has to have 'carbon' on it somewhere....

I take it those World Champion stripes are an attempt at irony..............

i think the system is broken. or darren is off galavanting around the world...
  • Having finished this year's Vitruvian in a time of 7:44 and 4 places from dead last, I'm keen to have another crack at it next year as well as take part in the Outlaw. I'm sure I can slice a good chunk of time off my time if I stick to a more regimented training plan - read that as following a plan full stop.

Living in deepest, darkest Wiltshire I'm mid way between the clubs in Frome, Bath and Salisbury but would be keen to join a club that doesn't necessarily take itself too seriously but has a laugh. I've come across PSOF and saw lots of them at the Vit and saw a few BCTTT shirts as well.

Are there many people in and around Wiltshire ? And would I benefit from joining the club ?

You should take a look at bcttt... you probably saw me in my bcttt tri-suit on your travels around Rutland.

bcttt was formed off the back of the complete cluster fuck of this forum. This place decided to upgrade the forum and locked everyone out so you had to re-register again. So when most of the "regulars" dissapeared we formed our own club and bcttt was born. It was the idea of certain conehead to be fair and he made it happen.

So essentially the BCTTT forum is full of the old 220's regulars and we have now formed a club where the ethos is essentially propping up the back of the pack so that others don't have to. We don't care if you are slow, learning the ropes, fast, fat, skinny... what you will find is a group of like minded people who love triathlon.

Will you benefit from joining a club - yes.

david - there are a few bcttt-ers in wilts, one in the devizes area and i am near chippenham/bath. we manage a couple of rides a year, usually on the bike! drop me a pm (if it is working on these forums, if not then the 'other' place) and i'm sure we can sort something...

I am in Somerset (the Wells side) and a BCTTT!.
There are a few of us in the south west and meeting for a ride should happen more. It always something we could organise if you want a trip out.

Would you benifit from joining? Yes you would. Theres loads of great advice to be gained. Nearly all of us came from this foum once and migrated across due to the spam on here and just have a good laugh now. The club social in Nottingham this year for the relays was awesome.
