You can use a Shimano BB with FSA cranks except the carbon cranks. I researched this as I replaced the BB on my Goossamer with a DA BB and the only caveat I found was in respect of the carbon set ups. So if you have the SLK light carbon the answer is no.
Yep - just checked - the Shimano BB's all use 6805 bearings (dimensions 25x37x7mm) which can be easily replaced for about £5 (despite also saying they can't).
I also think FSA and a few other's use exactly the same bearing as well.......
Thanks Pat, that is jolly useful to know, wish I had known that 2 months ago turned down a cheap SLK carbon as I didn't want to faff about with the BB; did a fair amount of research and as you say everyone says you can't - but you did. Never mind
And from what I can gather, all the Shimano external BB's have the same bearings, it's just the casing quality that vary (and not by much) so for what it's worth, the poverty £13 tiagra one does the job nicely.

I've got the SL-K carbon arms on my cheapo Shimano BB and they fit absolutely perfectly (despite people saying they won't).
I checked all the dimensions with my calipers and they are exactly the same as the Shimano gear.
