Hi everyone

For anyone that is interested I have made a blog to track my training for IMUK thus year.

I have wrote a few posts now for anybody that fancies reading them. I try to keep them lighthearted so not laborious to read. For any techy people you can also follow me on twitter - name is grandyville.

Good blog Andy, I will follow it with interest as I am training for my first year in triathlon, nothing as strenuous as your ironman but I can relate to some of the things you write, the early morning swims where people have rolled right out of bed and straight to the pool etc,,
The one thing that I always find amazing is that no one ever seems to be able to resist the temptation of a free bar, no matter how good your intentions are lol!

  • Thanks guys. Yeah it is quite fun writing about it. Probably post more than once a week as I will forget things. So keep an eye out and comment if you wish. Good luck in your first year it's a great sport with great people.

I seem to get into some scraps from time to time which makes me laughg so i put them in. I swam into a womens BUM the other day whilst avoiding diving kids. That cause and embrassing laugh. She laughted to which made OK1
  • I have joined your page so I will keep an eye on it too.

I am sure I will have a rant or two on my blog at some point haha
  • im doing imuk this year cant wait! after a couple of years doing tri my 40th birthday will allow me to conquer it!! i hope will keep an eye on your blog dude how is the training going?
  • Hi steve

I'm similar apart from age , when I started 3 years ago my goal was always IM as I wanted to push myself to the limit.
Training is going well thanks, pretty tired as like most of you have a family and work full time so fitting training in means early starts and late finishes. I enjoy it though once I'm going. How about yours? Do you have a time to aim for or just to finish?

Will be a new post tomorrow on the blog

  • Hi everyone

A new post on the blog. Unfortunately it is a sad one.
Some may wonder why I am talking about it and making it public to people who don't know me much but it is helping me deal with what has happened and making me stronger.

    Thanks

    Just had a read Andy,

Interesting to see how your training is comparing to mine, you seem to be a few hours a week ahead of me at this point in time.

I completely agree with you about every minute counts with the swim sessions, my lunchtime swims are like a military operation with precision timing!
I forgot my towel once and dried myself with paper towels from the hand dispenser

    Not cool

    Keep up the good work
  • Hi all

Still posting a couple of times a week so just *bumping this post up to remind people
    Hope everyone is well.
