Things I see whilst training

Hi,
Never thought I would post on this section, thinking I wouldn't be witty enough / would start getting cyber bullied or some other thing that teenagers these days concern themselves, but I think the time has come to unleash my musings on the world.
I am sure that most of us have seen things whilst out training that most other sedentary beings are oblivious to. So I thought I would start this off with the most perplexing thing I have seen this week whilst running ** please note it really confused me but everyone else I mentioned it to, got it immediately**

Window cleaners van parked at side of the road - name of company 'Mr Bit'

Took me about 1 and 1/2 miles to work it out. It was whilst running up a big hill so I maintain that most none essential functions in my brain had been shut down for the sake of my lungs.

    I see some amazing stuff on my runs. I live in the country so it generally involves animals - deer running past me, I often get an escort from a buzzard that lives near the avenue of ash trees, merlin. Get some amazing sunrises and inversions, the brocken spectre that made going out on a godawful fell run absolutely worth it

    I probably won't dwell on the time I came across (pardon the pun) the doggers.

    Local sweep is called K2, I guess he thought 'Everest' had already gone !

    I often run past a car park known for dogging, only because it's on my route, honestly. Normally, it's very quiet because it's daylight, but during a night time run with a headtorch was a completely different matter. Heart rate spiked, but that's a story for a different website

    I was out running the other day and saw a mum with her young son - about 3.5-4 years old. As i approached the mum she smiled so I said morning. The little boy was staring at me in wonder so I gave him a cheery wave as I ran past. A few seconds later I heard a shout and looked back to see the little boy head down in sprint mode trying to follow me. I had to chuckle and thought i better hurry up before this little guy catches me up.

    Joiner at my gym has a van,with the company name of ''Morning Wood'',on it
    passed another van with portaloos on it,company mame ''W C in Fields''.

    Blurred images through streaming eyes......silence punctuated by my puffing, panting and occasionally expelling of snotty body fluids.

    Bit like the dogging i suppose.....only lasting longer...the run I mean.

    Seagull, seagull, seagull, dog, seagull, seagull, seagull, dog, seagull, seagull, seagull, dog (repeat to fade)

    Oh and the bliss of the spring months when not only do I have to avoid being bitten by dog/stepping in deposit but also getting divebombed by seagulls protecting their chicks.

    Anyone want a nice house by the seaside?

    Whilst running through Busy park at the weekend i saw a dog try to intimidate a bunch of Deer.
    The dog lost.

    police armed with pretty big machine guns .. this is whilst making my way round the back of Regents Park where the presedential house is .. I always wonder what would happen if I suddenly rushed them .. but then at the speed i'm running and state i'm in by then .. I would probably collapse before I reached them.

    6:30am - on a morning run. A large drunk bloke riding a kids BMX supping from a can of Holsten Pils.

    Today it was 3 dead birds at the side of the road. Not squished or nuffink, just dead. Even more strange was that they were ostriches.

    Made that bit up.

    They were alive.

    I'll stop now.

    Yesterday on my ride I saw:-

    (a) a car with part of the widscreen smashed
    (b) an ambulance
    (c) a bike stood up against a walll



    I hope the rider was OK. It was only a part of the widscreen that was smashed, so hopefully nothing life threatening.

    Technically not training but completing the Canterbury 10 mile weekend before last. At mile 3 a runner's mobile went off and he answered it.

    Unbelievable.

    First half marathon I did, the Mrs came to watch me start. She didn't want to hang around waiting so she went shopping, I took my phone all the way round with me, and called her at 12 miles. She then came and watched me finish

    The nicest lollipop lady in the world who sees me coming & presses the button on the pelican crossing so its in my favour whn I get there with no waiting...marvellous.

    On the subject of dead items i've seen numerous dead badgers and foxes but no dead ostriches

    I was cycling a few months back and saw a bird wipe out on the road a couple of metres ahead of me. It flew full speed smack into the road, rolled and lay there. It was still there the next time I went past, so reckon it must have broke its neck. It was wierd.

    More entertaining I saw a couple coming out of the bushes when I was out running, clearly been in there enjoying themselves, pity I wasn't 5 minutes earlier, or maybe 2 no wait that makes me sound like perv no wait I am

    Out running last autumn saw a pine marten in the local woods. They don't officially exist in Yorkshire but don't expect anyone has told the pine martens that.

    Earlier in the year was crossing a style down by the river and some drops of water splashed onto a rock very close by. Looked up an a squirrel was having a piss.

    To continue the wildlife theme, before beginning distance cycling around local lanes I had never seen a live Badger, weasel/marten type thing, barn owl (except in captivity) lots of other birds I have no hope of identifying but I know are not common in my back garden..woodpecker as well...nice to be in touch with nature.

    I see a lot of the inside of my garage door.

    Hopefully I'll actually get to take my bike outside this weekend...
