Checklist

Hi all, I'm entering the final stages before my first triathlon with only 2 week to go. I'm trying to create my check list for race day and wanted to ask everyone for their input from personal experience and past mishaps. It's a pool based sprint tri.

So far I've got;

Trisuit
Goggles
Running Shoes (I'll be cycling in these too)
Socks (Just can't stand not to have any on)
Sunglasses (Being hopeful)
Bike
Helmet
Spare tube
Pump
Transition towel
Sports drink
Water
Energy gels (just in case)

Please add any extras below and hopefully I won't forget anything important, I've already reserved myself to forgetting something.

Cheers all

You might want to add small towel to wipe feet/stand on, useful if swim to T1 is gritty, last thing you want is to have grit between your toes for the bike and run.

Some talculm powder for inside the shoes and socks. So much easier to get on with wet feet

Money.... To either spend in the pub drowning your sorrows or celebriting,or to spend at one of the stalls at the race,or to phone home as you have lost your car keys and dropped your phone in the water.(suggest you put it in your saddlebag,it may pay for your taxi fare back to the race start)

electrical tape,or botch tape, solves hundreds of last minute problems.

Tesco's carrier bag to cart your tri stuff around in.

Top tip, but something you'll only regret not knowing during your first tri in the rain.

My first try is a really wet and cold day! The two blue IKEA bags worked a treat!
Also top tip 2 for the bags is............................

Easy to spot in transition area! No one else uses them!

I had noticed that jack, hence i have moved all my future questions and advice over to BCTTT.

I've had more use out of 'the darkside' in a couple of weeks than a few months on here
