Pain in the bike

I was doing a fartlek session on my bike this morning, and about 40 seconds into the farltek, I couldn't get my bike going any quicker.

Most people would say that is to do with the strength/stamina in my legs. However I am not so sure. If I stopped pedalling my bike would stop straight away. When I travel along a flat road, and stop pedalling, my bike stops to soon.

Is my bike just to heavy, not aerodynamic enough? I would expect to stop pedalling and continue freewheeling.

might sound stupid - but are your blake blocks rubbing against the wheel....or also possible that your wheel isn't set properly in the frame and is rubbing against the frame - your bike should be able to freewheel for quite a distance at speed.

Could also be worn or poorly adjusted wheel bearings. Has your bike always done this or is it something recent? If you lift the wheel off the floor and spin it does it spin freely?

The front break does rub a little, and the wheel does run freely.

I guess it is just me lol. Best I get on the turbo trainer.
