    No hubs, no spokes etc

I'd just buy a complete wheel and save all the hassle

Import duty will raise the price up to make it not worthwhile unless you order loads.
Know anyone travelling back from China who will do a Take Out?

Before ordering anything from China, Indonesia, or from Alibaba, make sure you google search them along with the word scam.

    They nearly all are.

If you are brave/ stupid enough to go ahead make sure you pay only through Paypal, and even then make sure that the sale meets Paypal's requirements for buyer protection. Or even better through eBay then Paypal.

At least then, when your package doesn't show up, you have a chance of getting your money back.

Having said that there are some reputable China suppliers, but only go to ones that have a safe recommendation, ie by regular users on a UK forum like roadbikereview (not the "customer" comments on Alibaba, and not users posting 5 comments in broken english all praising some foreign company).
