New Event in the East Midlands

Hi there,

I would like to let you know about my new multi sports company in the East Midlands. We are Racetime Events (http://www.racetime-events.co.uk), based in Leicestershire. Our aim is to host affordable, fun, well organised, family friendly events.

Our first event is a pool based sprint triathlon in Desford, Leicestershire on the 7th August 2011. Our event is open to anybody whether you are a complete novice wishing to do your first event, a seasoned triathlete, or why not enter as a relay team and compete with your friends, family or colleagues.

Reasons to enter our race include:

Free 12 week training plan written by Ben Bright, ex GB Elite Head Coach

Free running technical t-shirt

High 5 products

Great prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female, AG winners and also random spot prizes provided by our great sponsors.

The chance to raise money for LOROS, a great local charity (seperate prizes available for fundraisers)

Chip timing

Trade stalls at our event including Multi Sports Store a local triathlon online retailer and Swimcam offering swim technique advice and a chance to win a free session of swim video analysis.

Hardly an added incentive for the majority of the field...

Extra spot prizes would be a better draw, since the vast majority of competitors don't win.
  • Some of them are being used as spot prizes

Also have a weeks cycling holiday and 20 prizes from Hilly clothing as spot prizes

It was our aim to try and offer as many spot prizes as possible so everybody stands a chance of winning something nice. Not many races offer that.

That's really a good idea! most of us are afterall, never going to be on the podium other than to have a sit down for five minutes after the race so this is a nice thing to do.
