Best tyres for racing

I am sure this has been discussed before, but I wanted some ideas for the best tyres to race on. I am looking at the continental triathlon, but any other thoughts would be great. I am ok at changing inner tubes so puncture resistance is a thought as well.

I've recently started using Vittoria Corsa Evo CX tubulars on the basis of a friend's recommendation. They'd been on a tri camp with Joe Beer and that was the recommended tyre to use and in the tubular version got 10/10 from a Cycling Weekly tyre review. I certainly can't fault them as a race tyre.

You'd obviously need the clincher equivalent which is the Open Corsa Evo CX - quick check showed they were currently on offer at Wiggle for £29.39 each.

conti competion or bontrager race lites (which are actually vittorias in disguise)

Conti are magic to be honest. Bought a set last year and they are still going strong. Don't buy cheap tubs, get decent ones and they will last
