Sun Cream

PC67PC67 Posts: 101
I wasted time in transition in the Windsor Race last year splashing sun cream on my arms and legs. I wore a T-shirt last year but this year I've bought a sleeveless trisuit making sun protection even more important. I take the sun OK but 2 and 3/4 hours in the sun on a day like last year's race would fry anybody!

If I put sun cream on before my swim, underneath my wetsuit, is it necessary to put cream on again in T1?

personally i used ironman waterproof sunblock, which is waterproof for 8 hrs +. I too did Windsor 2006 and just applied it before the race, it was roasting, and i was fine, zero burn, and im fair skinned so burn like a trooper! Im having problems finding it again (originally got it from tri-uk), but assuming i can get it im fully inteding on getting another bottle. Its AMAZIN!

  • pdunde,

if you do find a supplier of the sunblock you recommend please let us know. Sounds like good stuff.

tri-uk yeovil told me they are getting some more in soon - if its not the ironman brand it will be an equivalent so try there first. Just make sure its a non-paba oil free 8hrs+ brand and all will be cool! When i run out i will order some more from somewhere and post on this site where i got it from.

    Hi guys,

I've been using "Prosport 44 or 35" for years now and it really does an excellent job of staying on during a triathlon. I'm also a windsurfer and one application lasts the whole day while regularly getting wet.

You can get it from sailboats.co.uk. Its £13.99 for a 180ml. Probably available from other shops too.

    Regards

    Nick
