Shipping your bike

What advice would you give for shipping your bike to a European race from the UK?

I'm interested in shipping boxes as well as any tips for using airlines like Easyjet. Many thanks

    I'm doing this for the first time.

    You can hire a bike box, mine cost £40 for a week and for an extra £10 they will pack it for me.

    I'm flying BA and when I called them they didn't any extra for carrying the bike as I was only going with hand luggage, my aim was get wet suit in the bike box too.

    Cant answer for easyjet tho.

    I used Bikeboxalan, very helpful on the phone, I;m based in bristol so they were fairly local to me
