Hi all, need some bike advice as dont trust the kids in Evans.
Have a couple of sprints coming up in May/ June and then Austrian Ironman in July. Going to use the ride to work tax free scam and push the boat out to buy a decent bike.
Am still deciding between road and tri bike. Currently eyeing up:
Cervelo P2SL
Spec Transition Comp
Q Roo Kilo
Trek Equinox 7
Felt s25
What would anyone recemend in the £1000 to £1500 range, road or tri? I currently have a Specialized Allez Sport so can use that for group rides if needs be...
Are dura ace etc that much better than 105 etc?
Any help appreciated.

Houndog - the other main difference I can think of is seat angle. You can change between a road set up and a TT set up on a road bike, I do, and it works fine, not sure it's done very much the other way round though. So I wouldnt go for a steep seat angle bike if it is going to be your only bike because you might find yourself stuck with a TT setup all winter. The steeper ones are meant to be used for up to olympic distance and road frame for longer. This link explains a bit more about the significance of the steeper seat angle; http://www.shop.kinetic-one.co.uk/index.asp?function=DISPLAYPRODUCT&productid=92

They have probably the best prices I have seen, although they ARE a web-only business, so when you buy from them you have to give them a detailed specification (assuming you know your precise measurements and are not guessing). Although, I have read other forums and blogs where people say Planet X gives excellent after-sales support and service.
