I live in Dubai and there is a massive Tri community here, loads of people will enter locally, although it's perhaps not brilliant timing as there is the ITU race in Abu Dhabi the following week as competition. Having just done the brilliant inaugural Dubai International Triathlon this weekend (70.3 distance)along with 1100 other folk, I'm sure Challenge Dubai will get a lot of support from the local triathlon community, they could have just launched it earlier to try and attract more overseas athletes. So from zero, we now have 3 middle distance races in the region! Hooray

We're waiting for more details on the course, the organisers have indicated that it's a middle distance race, but nothing further as yet
