I did swimming and cycling when I had something similar... to be honest though, without knowing the full extent of the injury i'd go on the recommendation of a physio (not a GP!)
When I had a calf injury swimming with a Pull Buoy was the best aerobic training I could do, be careful not to kick off the wall to hard though. I would agree with the previous comment and see a physio.
