training necessary for Half IM?

Hi

I 'd like to do a Half IM next year. What is the minimum hours per week of training to complete it?



My background: 40, completed two Olympic race. Ive been training 4-5 hours per week for two years.

    Hi Jean, did you have any particular race in mind? Did you want to compete or complete? 4-5hrs should see you to being able to complete a half. I did Wimbleball last year on around 6-8hrs a week.

    Yes aiming at 70.3 in Singapore next september (I live in Hong Kong).



    Benny, no problem, so far seems that with 6-8h/week it's achievable!

    As a newcommer to triathlon and having done a full IM I have decided to do the full distance once a week -ie 1 hr swim, 90 km cycle, 20km run I do this mon, wed, fri plus other training details elsewhere on tis forum! ps Good luck in your training
  • hey. i sense u just want to complete the half. i suggest that u do 2 training sessions a week per area for a half. and do about an hor traing session for each at a fast pace [/align]
