One theory though is that the diet humans mostly eat now is not what our ancestors ate for millions of years.
Well, "Western" type humans. The ones with all the problems of obesity, high blood pressure etc. Doesn't "eating a balanced diet" mean eating what we are supposed to eat, rather than all the highly processed fat/protein/carbs/salt? Of course, we have a huge variety, overabundance, so that we never have periods of hunger (which, some theorise, is good for you, I guess in the same way that the body gets better after any kind of stress placed on it). And of course, isn't doing something like a triathlon a bit like simulating the sorts of physical stresses that our ancestors might have been subjected to as part of their normal day - in contrast to spending all day sat in a chair in front of a computer screen?

I see a BALCO type scandal on the horizon if this gets out.
